Though I am usually more partial to NY strip steaks, This particular cut exceeded my expectations, tender and with a rich full flavor, so rich I only cooked half of it at a time.
The only knock is I wish it was more affordable but it was phenomenal
I’ve tried every make and model of steak in the world. A5 taste great but you can’t eat it like a regular steak. I keep coming back to this Australian Waygu BMS 6-7. It’s just a few notches above a prime steak in marbling. For prime steaks I tend to use oil and baste it with butter. I only use a very thin coat of oil on 1 side to get it going in the pan and I do not use butter as this steak is plenty fatty and flavorful. Perfect balance.

For the price point of this Austrailian Rib Eye it was very good. Did a reverse sear, 20min @ 300F then 2-3 minutes on hot stainless thick pan. So good. 👍👍👍

I wish they offered thicker cuts, but as soon as I took the first bite I was blown away. 100% worth it, and the Australian being BMS 6-7 is perfect for me, although I’ll be curious to try the Japanese 10 stuff they sell as well.

I purchased a 5 pack.We cooked 2 of the thickest ones. They were tender. The remaining 3 are much thinner. For us, a consistent thickness would be more desirable, so 4 not 5 stars.
