I’ve tried every make and model of steak in the world. A5 taste great but you can’t eat it like a regular steak. I keep coming back to this Australian Waygu BMS 6-7. It’s just a few notches above a prime steak in marbling. For prime steaks I tend to use oil and baste it with butter. I only use a very thin coat of oil on 1 side to get it going in the pan and I do not use butter as this steak is plenty fatty and flavorful. Perfect balance.
Everything is fantastic. The Australian Wagyu sale was great value and well marbled. Most of the time their Prime ribeyes are so well marbled and tender I stick with them unless I'm looking to make a really rich wagyu for a recipe. But lately I've reserved the Wagyu for carpaccio and tartar because the prime is so good there's no need to buy anything else if we want just a fantastic ribeye.
